Ventilation

Poor air quality and temperature control can lead to respiratory problems and drowsiness. A number of people living with dementia spend a large portion of their time indoors. They may be unaware of their environment or have difficulty in communicating so will endure a far more negative environment. Some ideas to try in your home are:

Try and avoid using air freshners with a powerful smell, instead use natural ventilation.

Open windows regularly for adequate temperature control and to remove excess heat. It also provides enough oxygen for breathing and brain stimulation.
